Bristow Group has appointed William “Bill” Collins to SVP of global operations. Collins will focus on improving operational safety, reliability and efficiency for Bristow’s clients. With this appointment, acting SVP Chet Akiri will assume his chief commercial officer role. Collins joins Bristow from American Airlines where he was responsible for the aircraft overhaul division in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
Advanced technologies and products for aerospace provider Astronics Corp. has appointed Jeffry D. Frisby, Warren C. Johnson and Neil Kim as independent directors to its board, which now consists of nine directors. Frisby spent 17 years with Triumph Group as president and CEO. Johnson spent 33 years at Moog as president. And Kim comes from Broadcom Corp., responsible for the company’s global manufacturing of wired and wireless communication solutions.
Lee Johnston has been tapped as Metro Aviation’s regional aviation manager for the Midwest region. Johnston has been an EMS pilot since 2001. He joined Metro in 2011 as a lead pilot and site manager for MedFlight in Ohio. He holds an FAA airframe and powerplant certificate.
L-3 WESCAM appointed Mike Greenley as president. He joins L-3 from CAE, where he served as VP and general manager of CAE Canada. Before that he was VP international for GD C4 Systems, where he focused on underwater intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, land communications and rugged computing products.
FlightSafety International has promoted Willy Vargas to director of sales for Latin America and the Caribbean. He will lead the company’s training sales and business development activities in that region. He joined FlightSafety in 2004, serving as product marketing representative for Bell Helicopter training programs. He recently served as managing director of sales for Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Colombia and Peru.
Leo Morrissette has been promoted as Air Methods’ SVP of aviation operations. He will oversee air medical part 135 certificate operations. He joined Air Methods in 2013 as VP of aviation support services. He previously served as VP of operations at CHC/Heli-One, responsible for all maintenance operations in North America.
L-3 Communications has appointed Ann D. Davidson as the company’s SVP, general counsel and corporate secretary. She previously served as SVP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Exelis Inc. Davidson earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton. She is an active member of the bar in Virginia and New York.
Bryan Ba has been appointed senior sales director for China at Asian Sky Group. Ba previously worked as a sales agent at Bombardier distributor Liftec. He holds a private pilot license.
Air BP has appointed Jon Platt as chief executive of the company’s global aviation business. Platt has been with BP for more than 27 years, previously as CEO of its liquid petroleum gas unit and CFO of its petrochemicals business.
Louis Seno, chairman emeritus of Jet Support Services Inc., will be honored with the John P. “Jack” Doswell Award at the 2016 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Orlando. The award recognizes lifelong individual achievement and volunteer service within business aviation. Seno served as JSSI’s president and CEO and remains a special advisor to its board of directors. He has also held executive positions at Boeing Capital and GE Capital Solutions. He has served for 25 years in various positions at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, such as VP of corporate relations and government affairs.
