Humanitarian Aid – Fire, Flood, Volcano, Hurricane: With the onset of hurricane and wildfire seasons, an erupting volcano and ongoing floods, governments are both responding to and preparing for the aftermath of more and more severe natural disasters. Helicopters provide lift, firefighting support and humanitarian aid in disaster’s wake all over the globe, and the industry is hard at work improving aircraft effectiveness and efficiency.

Pilot report — Bell 407GXi: We fly Bell’s pitch for the U.S. Navy trainer replacement. Unveiled at Heli-Expo, the GXi has been significantly upgraded from its predecessor with a new engine and avionics.
